Washington JLARC
Survey of Police Chiefs and Sheriffs

Welcome to the Police Chiefs and Sheriffs Survey!

The Legislature directed the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee (JLARC) to review the use of the state’s first responder mapping system for public K-12 schools (HB 1216). The Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC) manages the state’s system, called Rapid Responder, as well as its Easy Alert feature. Schools also may use an alternative mapping system (e.g., SafePointe/InPointe).

The Legislature wants the review to include your input. We want to know if and how you use mapping systems, the types of information you need, the cost, and the advantages/disadvantages. Please take a few minutes to respond. The information you provide will help us give the Legislature a better understanding of tools needed to facilitate law enforcement response to incidents at schools.

This survey is conducted by the Social and Economic Sciences Research Center (SESRC) at Washington State University. Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions about the survey. Please contact Danna L. Moore by phone: 1-800-833-0867 or email: sesrcweb7@wsu.edu.
